Had my Worcester oil combi fitted for nearly 6 months now and the saving on oil over our old boiler is unbelievable

Now that the weather is on the turn and heating will be needed within a month or so I was just wondering what the general consensus is on hot water :D

I've had it on constant since the boiler was fitted and to be honest it has used a TINY bit of oil, especially compared with my old boiler which only used to heat a tank twice a day

Is it advisable to keep it on constant all the time?

What does everyone else do?

Cheers!

More than likely the old boiler was not adjusted to work
at it's best. There should be very little loss with a hot water tank
provided it is modern and well insulated. Perhaps would
have been cheaper just to upgrade the hot water tank.

With a combi you are heating a small tank of insulated water all
day. So best have this switched off during the night. However that
means no hot water should you want some in the night.
Happily a modern oil combi will be ready to supply hot water in 10 minutes.
Just switch the hot water on when you are in the house and awake.

The old boiler was a nightmare, 30 years old and was falling apart inside! During the cold snap last year we used 1000 litres of oil in 7 weeks!

The whole house had an awful system, the hot water tank was very old and had a "hot rod" and took an hour to heat, believe me I've done the right thing ;)
