Hi Guys,

I need to put a temporary tap outside on my building site. It's my house, so can do what I want. I have used an isolating valve that caps the existing 15mm copper pipe. As the tap may need to move and is in an awkward position, I have bought a length of plastic pipe. Can I simply put plastic into the copper olive and tighten. doesn't need to be good for years, just a couple of weeks.

Thanks

Yes you can use plastic into brass fittings, Don't forget the pipe insert.

As above use a compression fitting (Softer Copper Olives are best) insert a pipe support sleeve, you can use PTFE tape if required, don't over-tighten.

DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF JOINTING PASTE, it can attack the plastic pipe.
