I recently moved to a new [to me] house and the central heating / domestic water system is all plastic pipework, something I'm not that familiar with. From reading other topics I see that it is acceptable to connect copper pipes to the plastic system. My question is this.
When making a connection from plastic to copper or vice versa which would people say is the best method. Is it better to connect a plastic pipe into a compression fixing or is it better to connect a copper pipe into a push fit plastic connection?
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

Compression.
But still needs the insert in the plastic pipe.
When you say new is it brand new or new to you.

There was alot of 1970 builds built with poly york in the copper shortage thats totally different to 15mm plastic of today.

Ok then.

Compression rather than pushfit.
But as said still needs the inserts in the plastic pipe.
