Hi, do most people put a timber frame/batten on the wall before installing a bath. To help fix to the wall. Could anyone explain the best way of doing this? Thanks

2x1 batten fixed to studs or brick work dead level.
Drop bath onto frame with mastic on top of timber support.
Lower the bath feet to the floor.

Best thing to do as a lot of cheap baths flex a lot so helps give them that extra bit of support.

Thanks so do you set the bath to the correct height for fitting bath panel. Put the bath in place and mark the bottom rim that will sit on to the wood. Remove bath draw a level line around and install wood say 3mm below the line so there's some room for silicone.
