Swap Honeywell T6360B dial to DT90E digital

Saying Hi with a question pleasae guys. but hope someone can help

Boiler is a Vaillant CombiCompact VCW-GB 242/282
I have an old dial stat with the wiring currently like this:


The new digital dial only is a two wire insallation like this :



So I need to attach two and isolate one but can anyone please help with which wires go where please?

(The instructions dont seem to correspond with what I have now)

TERMINAL 1 into A
terminal 3 into B
TERMINAL 2 neutral not required make safe either at stat or back at junction box preferably

Just curious but am I right in thinking that TERMINAL 1 in my dial stat going into A is the PERM LIVE and the wire in TERMINAL 3 going into B of the new stat the SWITCHED LIVE?

No they are both switched live terminal 1 only gets power after passing through the switched CH side of the programmer and 3 is just a continuation of it back to boiler/pump after being switched through roomstat
