can't find the right part of the forum for this query but guess plumbers may have come across this !
As I go about my normal handyman work I keep coming across new issues !
Got a very loose toilet seat fitting that allows the seat to slide sideways - not good, The fittings appear to be put in from the top and are turned to lock by hand (expanding rubber 'rawplug' in the hole. These mountings are wobbly to start with. The seat is a quick release system fitted to these mounts - any suggestions ? thanks
will try to put a couple of pics up of these mountings in a minute

It's possible the chrome shrouds come off to reveal a screwhead:

gosh, thanks for quick reply - that does look like them indeed - thought you just twisted the whole assembly round to secure/lock - will try to lift shrouds off and tighten up more - will be going to try and sort this and other things on Friday so am much more knowlegeable now.
many thanks
