Hi there,

My boiler has suddenly developed a fault on the hot water side.

Yesterday when I turned a hot tap on with low flow everything was fine.
If I increased hot water flow to maximum I heard a soft 'klunk' from the boiler and water flow ceases competely.
After a few seconds I coud repeat this.

Now today there is NO hot water flow.

Any ideas please.

Thats interesting and not something I have encountered before but DP who posts here may have seen it as he specialises in Volks.

Long shot but has a stopcock been fitted backwards in the cold supply to pipe four?

Tony

Sounds like the hot water tap slamming shut.
does it happen to all the hot water taps?

Never came across this on a boiler before.

These have a flow adjuster on the incoming cold, it sounds like something has come adrift internally on it.

I've been in the house for 10 years and never had this happen before.
Would that not have shown up before?

I only tried the kitchen tap, as it's right next to the boiler.
It's a mixer tap and I can very quickly turn it full on.

The bathroom taps do NOT have the same problem.

So, you might be right, it's the tap!

Boy, do I feel silly.

Thanks

My kitchen tap is a spray mixer.
"Nobili Hera spray head tap. OS"

Is it just likely to debris in the pipe, or something more serious?
