Worcester 240 RSF Combi Clanging noise when hot water on

Help please - when I turn my shower, bath on I intially get hot water then the boiler cuts out and makes a banging sound coming from what i think is the (compression chamber with the water/water heat exchanger in) 'looks like a red barrel'. The water is cold and i have to press the override button to reset the boiler and again the same process happens - I have had the diverter valve replaced and the whole system including the pump drained of air.

Tell us about the system pressure on your boiler.

It should be set for 1.5 Bar when cold.

I suspect as a first step the expansion vessel may have failed or need repressurising.

hi, thanks - ive checked the pressure and its 1.5 can i repressurize the expansion vessel myself ?
