Hi,

I have half hips on both ends of my property and the gutters return on to the main section of roof. However, when it is windy (as it is tonight!) the returning portion of guttering flaps around and bangs on the roof.

Any idea's on how I can stop this? How long should the returns be?

Cheers in advance,

Ian

A couple more brackets on each side will stop the flapping.

Cheers for the reply alistair. I take it you mean a couple of brackets along the front section (ie where it runs under the hip roof)?

I'm guessing the idea is that if the gutter is retained better along the front it will twist less, and therefore flap less?

Most anoying thing is that it only started happening when I had my soffits, facias and gutting replaced. I would call the guy back, but in the end he was a little difficult to work with, so I'd rather save the hastle and get up there and sort it myself!
