Hi there,

I will shortly be retiling my mansard wall and rearranging the current drainage arrangements.

One thing that I'll need to redo is the interface between the flat felt roof and the mansard wall (which will have lead flashing running along the top).

In the following photo, the lead flashing appears to run under the felt, with the felt simply bonded on top. On my flat currently, there is a mini drip edge that th felt runs over, before dripping onto the mansard below.

Does anyone know if there's a preferred way to do this?

Many thanks,

Alex

The picture you show is a lazy solution, a felt drip should come down over the lead. The bottomg of the lead should also be clipped and welted to avoid wind uplift.
