No under roof tile felting ?

Hi all, our 1953 bungalow has no felting under the slate roofing tiles, instead it has been cemented/plastered in between the rafters. Over the years this stuff has fallen off and the roof is now quite drafty in places !
Is there any material suited for putting into place in between the rafters rather than removing the whole roof to put felting down ?

Its called torching.
There are plenty of roofs without felt, as long as you keep your roof in a good state of repair you should have no problems.
Lofts are supposed to be draughty.

As Alistair said, Its called torching, lime based mortar with horse hair added to mix.
