Roof design help/low pitch problem

Hi!

Just stumbled across this forum and it looks like it could be a really useful source of information.

I'm planning an extension to my house but I'm having issues with the roof design.

Basically, the original plan was a lean to style single story extension extending 4m outwards from the back of the property with velux rooflights and running the entire length of the property (approx 8m). Now, given the height of the upstairs windows we don't appear to have a sensible pitch angle for the roof.

I don't want to compromise on 4m out particularly. I can supply pictures if this helps?

Does anyone have any ideas how it could be redesigned/fixed?

Pitch the roof above window sill height and have lead lined window recesses.

Or go for a zinc roof which can go down to a 3 degree pitch.
