UV Protection for New Door

I've just fitted a red GRP front door and I know that the colour on these can fade in sunlight over time. I was wondering if any one could recommend any product that would help to reduce fade and preserve the colour for as long as possible.
I was wondering if I used something like car polish as some of these claim to reduce UV damage on car paintwork.
