hi my brother recently moved into his council flat with his family the place was in a mess so he did most of the decorating. He had his bath fully tiled until recently the council wrote to him informing him that there is asbestos on the walls of his bathroom. The thing is he had the whole bathroom tile so no wall is visible would that still be safe. He is a bit worried as all we know is asbestos is dangerous but with the walls being covered in tiles i dont see any problem. Any advice would help a lot. Thanks

asbestos is only harmful if it has been disturbed and subsequently inhaled or (maybe) ingested.

so long as you don't go drilling holes you will be ok!

thanks noseall there is no more drilling to do so looks like its going to be okay. :)

Right up to the 60's asbestos was mixed with artex, some plasters and a few other things. This is probably what they mean. Like Noseall said as long as you do not disturb the asbestos you'll be fine.
