Hi,
I'm trying to remove the door knobs on my lounge door in order to tighten the retaining screws as the door knob mechanism has worked itself loose. There is no grub screw or external screw. It's a porcelain door knob with a backing plate which, when I prize away from the door has twointernal screws on one side but on the others side has one visible screw but the other screw is covered by what appears to be a metal cylinder.

It's not obvious to me how I remove the door knob so that I can then release the backing plate and tighten the loose screws. Does the latch mechanism need to come out?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks
