I need some help wiring my Hager contacteur chauffe eau to the EDF meter
It turns on the immersion heater during off peak rates with a signal from EDF
to their meter, but I don't know which terminals to connect it to on the meter.
There are four A1 A2 I1 and I2 there is a fuse marked 230 v by the A terminals but it is not live
Has anyone experience of this ?

It sounds as if you have an EDF digital meter. If so you need to connect to A1 & A2 (though these are more usually marked C1 & C2).

You should have a 2 amp breaker in your "tableau" that feeds mains voltage back to the meter where is passes through a switch contact that closes during the "heures creuse"/empty hours. This switched live then returns to the tableau where it energises the contactor that drives your immersion heater. The other side of the contactor's coil (bobine) goes to neutral via the 2 amp breaker.

A very nice person has put this on the 'net to help you:
