Cavity Wall Insulation

Hi, I'm new here so first post!

I had Cavity Wall insulation carried out on my house about 5 years ago when I bought it. It is a 4-bed detached house, built arounf 1955. However, i have began to notice that the house doesn't retain the heat very well and can go cold very quickly after turning the central heating off.

I was thinking about having it 'topped' up but don't want to pay for this if it is unnecessary work.

Has anyone else experienced this or is there any advice on this matter.

you wont need the cavity wall insulation topped up.
check your loft is adequately insulated 250mm minimum.
draught excluders on doors.
window seals etc.

You can't top it up.

Perception of heatloss is exactly that, and and I doubt if the performance of the insulated walls as actually changed

I read yesterday that just 5% moisture in fibre based insulations means a loss of 95% effectiveness. I'm not sure if you'd see other problems indicating this (I'd imagine damp patches on walls) but might be worth having checked out.
