decking problems

hi all i fitted some decking for a customer back in september last year i went back today to see the customer and look at the decking to my amazment some of the spindles have shunk and are almost falling out of the tracking does any one have any advice on how to sort this out should i have glued the spindles in place

how did you fix them, did you just rely on the tracking?

where were they from?

yr i cut them tight into the tracking and nailed the spacers in place with my nail gun i got it from my local merchants

Screw from the bottom and dowel rod the top and you should be ok in future.

Sounds like a dodgy batch of spindels, I think spinning them while they are still a little live would show shrinkage over time.
