Hello,

This drain keeps overflowing when there is anything more than a little light rain. I've tried to push a length of flexible pipe into the orrifice at the bottom but it will only go a couple of inches. Don't know anything about drains so not sure what path the pipe takes. I have to pay for surface water drainage so it won't be a soak away.

Will I have to dig the drain up / out to find the problem and clear it or do you think a blast with a pressure washer may clear it (I don't have one)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

its probably choked............get hold of a pressure washer and sit it in the drain, let it run for a while!
if that fails try dyno rod or similar company.
digging up would be your last resort.

These can often get choked with soil, in which case scooping out the blockage with a garden trowel may be all you need to do.
