I have an area approx 20ft by 20ft at the bottom of my garden.
The area has a concrete base covering the full area which appears ideal on which to base a building on?
Extended the base is an option to make it wider but cannot make it longer as it si the width of the garden.

I,m looking to build and office come workspace, in essence a photography studio plus the obligatory computer area etc.

Now this will have to last a fair few years so needs to be done with a decent degree of qaulity (this will be a bit mnore than a garden shed.

I have looked at several options from self build timber studios to garage type affairs.
I'm thinking that a proper build will be required to get what i want, but have never delved into this type of thing before.

So i'm after a bit of advice.

Do i need planning permission
How would i go about getting a design drawn up
Any thoughts on how much this would cost to build
Any suggestions on how long this would typically take to build
What do i need to check before i start.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Possibly - highly likely.

Speak to a designer/architect that has been recommended to you by friends.

Between £15 and £50k

Any suggestions on how long this would typically take to build
Between 4 and 14 weeks.

Try and use a designer/architect that will deal with planning and building control issues for you, and that he/she is familiar with reg's and planning queries.

Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
