hi all im looking for a bit of advice on fitting a door and two windows into a garage we are turning the garage into a annex i am battening the walls with 2x2 and insulating with 40 mm kingspan just wondering how to stop damp coming in on the reveals the original rendered is still on the out side so i am putting the frames back to existing outside render sorry if its seems so vague

what type of walls are the existing garage?
have you left / are you going to leave a cavity or DPM/vapour barrier between your new lining and the external wall?

yr what i have done is put building plastic 6 foot up the walls right the way around the internal skin and put it up against the inside of the door jamb and then insulate the reveals and then screw plaster board over the lot to act as a vapour barrer is this on the right track
