digging foundations(founds)

hello everyone ,im building myself a brick shed,ive started digging founds and i just wondered how you make sure they are level and what depth to dig.its gona be sinngle skin brick walls with a felt shingle roof,(12ftx9ft).its also on a bit of a hill so just wonderd if anyone had any tips for getting startd.would be much appreciated,thanks.tony :D

poured wet the concrete should self level.. might need a bit of help "flowing" with a board..
 
put wooden pegs into the foundation level them off all the way round then pour your concrete and tamp it down to the top of the pegs.

:D thanks alot for both replies,think im gonna go with wooden pegs as i will be just mixin and pouring my self.real good tip.thanks
