Shared downpipe in middle of semi detached

Both my roof and neighbours go down the saim drain in between our houses (semi's), can I also drain my driveway in to that same drain or do I need to drain it in to the drain at the other side of my driveway?

Yes if you like.

Make sure it does not just go to a small soakaway though, and if it does try not to over load it

my real issues is that i don't know where the shared drain actually drains to! I do know where my new drain goes as we just laid it, but its for waste.
