Disintegrated tourching

Hi,

Have been told that the torching on our roof has gone and will need slates taken off - felt laid and the slates put back on again; someone has mentioned the possibility of using an expanding foam (said it was a bit like honeycomb?) instead as its cheaper - any advice?

i was told that by the roofer but didn't know if that was just because he wanted my money!! thanks for confirming!!
