cutting slates.. have cut too much off?

I have been cutting 1/4 inch thick concrete slates to fit my roof.
I should have cut 1/4 inches off but have taken 1/2 inch off. (giving an extra 1/8 inch wider gap at either side. have I taken too much off and if so, should I just leave the ones I've already fitted?

it wont make much difference to the performance of the roof as long as the slates still have enough cover and bond.

i think it would be more of an aesthetics issue and wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the advice, I had noticed other tiles with aq 1/4 inch gap. so wasn't sure wetaher to change them either.. thanks
