I live in South America. at home I see little chimney pots with cowls
or rainguards. do not you go water?
my house is English style and I want the fireplace is also well

We can have covers on our pots...sometimes called Dutch Caps... ask @ a builders merchant

With a cap on the pot, very little water gets down the chimney, nothing to worry about.
