That time of year again. Anyone got any good suggestions as to who provides decent piblic liability and employees liabilty insurance, preferably with hired in plant cover as well?

I see direct line are doing a very good deal at the moment, but thye dont cover hired in plant (dont hire that much so not sure if its worth it!!!!)

I'm insured with Corgi, but I actually got a better quote from Simply Business, only problem was they had some terms on their tool insurance which wasn't suitable because of my cr4ppy van. Cat1 immobiliser i think it was they wanted. other than that they were sound.

We've been using this independent broker for many years now, very happy with them, always on the look out for us to reduce the premium (and always add legal cover to it, another less worry)

You can tell them exactly what you need and they will find you to best quote that ticks all the boxes (and then some)

I just used Simply business last night, was about £200 cheaper then anywhere else, didnt go for tool insurance etc but went for product liability so should even out

thanks for the replies and advice. we went with axa in the end, as despite being able to find some very cheap public liability insurance (look at directline, they are doing a reall good deal, and they will hold the price for next year as well) we were scuppered with the hired in plant charges.

I have to say what a complete arse it is getting it. some places would only give £50000 of cover when we only want £20000, others were charging an absolute fortune for it as a stand alone. Phoned 2 companies that specialise in doing only hired in plant. They asked what cover we wanted and what our hire charges a year were. They then literally plucked a figureout of the air. DIdnt even ask what we did, so how can they asses the risk?

Ho hum thats that done for another year
