Stanley buy Black & Decker

For those who are interested, Stanley purchased the Black & Decker group this week for $4.6 Billion!

Went through on Tuesday, and the word is that all the B&D and Dewalt products will be re-named as "Stanley Black & Decker" and "Stanley Dewalt" in the same way as they renamed Bostich as Stanley Bostich.

Unfortunately word is that up to 10% of the workforce will be laid off when they merge manufacturing & sales locations.

so thats dewalt fubared then,no doubt they will source the parts even cheaper and like skil will be seen a lot more in the sheds and the professanols will leave them there.

Hopefully Stanley will drag DeWalt up rather than DeWalt dragging Stanley down. Still wouldn't buy DeWalt though, pile of cr@p, never ever going back to them again
