It could be p & 9 are similar as its on the display.

What you have done is not the most reliable of scans. If you're worried about it then get an OBDII scanner on it.
From a quick google search the '96**' block seems to be the Ford PATS immobiliser system.

ask there wether there is anyone near to you who has a scanner and scan your car for some beer tokens?
or ask there for the correct lead for your car,bet it will cost less then half what ford will charge you for a scan,
iirc they will charge iro £85 or whatever they charge per hour.

I joined...Oh what a strange forum, you have to pay to look at certain things.
I would call it a privaye club.
Was advisd to post in the general chat area, got advice, disconnect the battery re connect & see if it re appears.
