Bathroom Window Frame Loose!! Cant see any way its fixed in?

Hi,

Weve moved into our new house and when opening the bathroom UPVC window we noticed that the whole frame on the left hand side is loose and can be pushed out....

Ive opened the window and looked for any screws through the frame into the brickwork but cannot see any, I also cannot see any way that they have fixed in the window ?

Do some windows not have drilled fittings?
Could ours be hidden somewhere?

you can drill through the frame and into the brickwork and use a frame fixing or plug and screw it.then run a bead of decorators caulking on the inside and silicone on the outside.you could also use some beading on the outside if you so wish.

So do you think that this window has never been secured in properly?
Or have they used another method?

I dont really want to drill through the frame, as I cant see what im drilling into or whats on the the other side of the frame, but I will do if there is no other option. Cheers

Do you not think that there are maybe hidden screws somewhere that have come out/loose?

I bet its just been wedged in or secured by spray foam.....use a proper pvc window fastener, where you drill straight through the frame and directly into the brickwork without disturbing the frame any more.

As already said its more than likely held in with foam, the only thing is you'll need to remove the glass to put a proper fixing in in the bottom half of the window. Its such a small window i would push it back against the tiles, pack it tight with frame wedge packers (you can already see a yellow one in the gap) then i'd re-foam it and seal back up outside with a good bead of silicone, inside id use silicone too instead of decorators caulk as its a bathroom, those two measures should hold the window in place

i doubt its been foamed in cos that stuff sticks like **** and i always fill mine with foam, after securing, and before i seal the reveals.
