I don't like using 0844 0870 0845 etc etc Secures. Mainly because the charges are so complicated. I cannot keep up with all these numbers but I see from their site that their charges are 4.2p per minute (plus VAT) from a BT landline. The other issue is you lose your 'local identity' not having a local number. Not sure it's gonna frighten off any of your customers but as I say, it would dissuade me.
In short, I'm not keen on the idea!

me neither its a rip off/ with bt pricing now days you dont need those sort of numbers . i dont phone those sort of numbers as i always use a mobile ant thats when it does hit you price wise

This wasn't meant to end up in Trade Talk, as the idea was sent to me in an e-mail, touted as a way for domestic customers to be able to be contacted wherever they are via just one number.
For example, it may be handy in an emergency to just dial one number. The system dials all numbers linked with that number until the call is answered.
