Hi all
We need some work done and have received the following quote. Our combi boiler is a year old and all our existing radiators are new (except one) and work very well.
Drain heating installation.
Install Magna-Clean heating component to directly below the combination boiler area
Install 1 radiator to bedroom. (existing radiator needs to move along about half a metre along the same wall - will need to lift floorboards but new floor going over the floorboards so no need to make it look good).
Install 1 radiator to box-room. Pipe-work already in place.
Install 1 radiator to spare bedroom.Pipework already in place
Fill, flush and test all works undertaken. Add protective inhibitor solution on completion.
For The Sum of: £ 415.00 +vat
Is this a good quote?
Many thanks |

Sounds fair enough to me if they are supplying. |

Sounds a bit like £145 for the magnaclean/inhibitor (supplied and fitted) and £90 per rad. Not too far off the mark to be honest. |

Sorry I should have mentioned that we are supplying the radiators, the thermostaic valves and the Magna Clean. |

If your supplying the bits, I'd start looking for another quote. That does sound over the top. I can't see the job but sounds like a days easy work. Are the rads huge, is your house huge? |

No, it's an extended 1930s semi-detached. We took the radiator out of the back room as after the extension the room shape had changed and we can use a smaller one (600 x 700) which we bought. We are therefore moving the bigger one which we bought about two years ago to the front bedroom (same size as the one there now so it just gets fitted onto the existing pipes).
The third one is in our box room and the new piping was put in place during our extension build but the plumber at the time said he would fit the radiator when he did the other jobs.
We have paid £90 to have a radiator fitted with another plumber last year and he quoted us £70 to fit our Magna Clean but I wasn't sure if the draining down and power flush was the thing costing the money. We did have a power flush and the inhibitor added when they fitted the new boiler last year. |

You didn't mention that in your first post. |
