I think the heat exchanger is not filling, the boiler starts runs for a minute then switches off, this leads me to suspoect it heats the water present (which is probably not a lot) this reaches temp and the thermostat switches the boiler off.

Does any one know how to prime a Potterton Profile Boiler?.

I'm afraid you're pump has gone which stops the heat from dissipating (no circulation). £35 at you local plumbers merchant.

or £34.99 at screwfix but regretfully its also + £5.99 packaging, but if you buy a "spare" as well (or some other stuff you don't really want ;) ) packing is free

I don't think so pump is working away, if i take the nut from the middle of the pump i can hear it moving and if i just rouch the pump 'wheel' with the tip of a screw driver i here the whirring sound you would expect and the pump doesn't stop?.

I have adjusted the pump speed through all 3 setting nothing seems to work, also the top tank over flowed last time i tried, which suggests water is being pumped up into the tank but not into the boiler.
