Laminate floor query

This is probably a daft question, but here goes...

When laying the first row of laminate floor, which edge should go up to the spacers against the wall, the tongue or the groove?

the tongue goes against the wall. i always cut the tongue off on the first row.

...actually every pack of laminate flooring comes with a sheet of paper which quite clearly explains exactly what mr_vampy has told you. It is also a known fact that very few men actually read the instructions (I am particularly bad myself ).

So yes I was taking the "P" but in a helpful way
