Sealing a threaded joint

Chaps, first ever post, please bear with it !
Fitted a new garden tap, but the joint,which is threaded, leaks, not a lot, but enough to be annoying. I used PTFE tape. Is there anything better ?

Loctite 55, great stuff!

loctite 55 thread cord. you can back it off a bit without it leaking so ideal to get your tap straight!
 
hold the tap in your left hand
use ptfe in your right
and use the ptfe so it tightends it self

and use 15raps
 
thats a p155 poor diagram adl ;)

Just check you have'nt overtightened the fitting and cracked the female part of the wallplate.
