Hi there,

Hopefully you chaps can help me out here if at all possible:

I've been working away for a few days and come back to the apartment i have been renting the past three months where the power has gone out (god damn electric meters ;) )

Tha alarm system i have installed is a Veritas R8 but now the panel is unresponsive and the alarm repeatedly sounds.

Essentially where i previously entered the code to enter the property and disable the alarm, it is audibly different and will not switch the alarm off (when i say different it is not the normal high pitched beep but rather a dull blip) and essentially the unit does not reset.

For the moment, or until i can contact the landlord (and hopefully withouth affecting my deposit) iv'e simply flipped the circuit breaker off to the alarm (quite obviously the battery is shot and has never been replaced because it lasts all of about 5 mintues before it becomes a background drone rather than an alarm)

What i want to know is if i can reset this unit (i'm pretty au fait with electrics, alarms etc, I just don't like going prodding when its not mine to prod for want of a better term)

I've been on Texecom's site, but they require registration etc from "legitimate" businesses to get the manual.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Actually just found the manual on the sticky above, but any feedback appreciated on this.

Well you've answered your own question, haven't you?

I don't think there is anything I can tell you that you won't know.

Walked into that didnt i ;)

I meant i wasnt a complete idiot when it came to alarms etc al because i've fitted my own in the past, but i dont know the specifics of this model.[/u]

When you power up with a duff battery it sometimes causes a big current draw that blows the fuse.

So check your fuses in the panel (glass ones).

Remove mains and battery , power-up mains first , enter user code to silence, close panel press reset.Replace battery asap.
