Hi Folks,

I called Banham today about their lock alarm which fitted onto a mortice lock. See here: http://www.banham.com/doorsecurity.html

Unfortunately, it would appear that they no longer sell them. Does anyone know of a similar product I could have fitted?

Thanks in advance,

jahman

Chubb do mortice locks with a electrical contact in them for alarm control purposes, but they are quite expensive .......

What we doing here ? :(

What the OP is on about is a sensor in the lock striking plate.
When the door is kicked the internal siren activates.
Not seen or fitted one for over 20 years personally.

Today something like that would require a bit of electrical jiggery.( They call it design apparently, jiggery always sounds better).

Siren, in a neat box. Transformer rather than the Banham battery they used.
Latching relay and sensor, think Maplins do one for about a tenner.
A bit of cable and some basic soldering skills.

Not sure they have a part now except personal peace of mind.

OP if your really wanting to go down this road I could sort out a list of components you would require.

Talk about a walk down memory lane :D
