I have rerouted the cable from the dish to another room but think it may be slightly short. :(

It is the 2 core cable which was installed by Sky engineers. Can I use ordinary co axial cable to the new point or do I need to renew existing.

Thanks
:D

If the joint to be made is indoors, you could get away with a length (X2 for "shotgun" cable) of satellite grade cable (buy by the meter from most DIY stores).

If joint is to be made outdoor , "ideally" run a whole new cable.

please dont use ordinary coax, use proper sat grade cable.

if the join is indoors you do not need to use twin shotgun cable, two lengths of single cable will do. If outdoors it is better to use new cable from from dish to where the box will be, but it is possible to join the cables, you just have to be extra careful with waterproofing
