Veritas R8 alarm set without pin

hello all we recently bought a house with a Veritas alarm installed

been reading throught he user guide an it mentions that you enter the "pin" to set the alarm, on our alarm you can just press "set" an it will arm

is that ok??

also i have tried to reset the pin (the code you put in to deactivate the alarm) by:

enter existing code
Prog
60
enter new code
Prog
Reset

but the pin doesnt seem to change

anyone help?

Could be the earlier version.
Try this.

Enter existing code.
Enter 00
Enter 01
Enter new code
Press Prog
Press Reset
 
Hi thanks for the reply all sorted. i reset the alarm using the button thingy 3 times

i can now change the code using Program 60

Hi, Single button set (As you describe), can be enabled as part of the engineers programming suite. It saves typing you PIN in every time you leave but can be a pain if you have kids with curious fingers. It can be enabled / disabled from within the programming menu.
