I have a scantronic 9752 panel at home with a texecom azura 360 bell. I want to install another bell. can i just connect the wire of the second bell on the same connections as the first one?
I entered installer mode and tried to open the bell cover to see the connections in there but the bell sounds. why does this happen?
thanks in advnce.

so you entered engineer mode, did the words ENGINEER MODE show on the display?

if not, you were not in engineer mode!

if you remove the cover to the bell box it WILL sound, its called TAMPER!!

were do you you want to fit the other sounder?
how is it going to be wired?

my advice is;
feed a cable back to the main control panel (end station)
connect to new alarm siren
ensure that you have set the new bell box as SCB (not SAB as power drain will be to high in alarm and you could blow the output fuse, i think the scanny has a fuse, but it might have a polyfuse (resets after high load removed)

then comes the wiring;

sounder trigger = wire to existing sounder trigger position
strobe trigger = as above
+ hold off = as above
- hold off = leave in place
TR tamper = remove from panel, connect to - hold off to new bell box
remaining cable from new bell box, connect to TR (tamper return) in panel

replace control panel lid, come out of engineer and all should be fine

depends on the siren unit!!
