I have taken a photo of a friend near a window overlooking his garden. Unfortunately I see the compost bin shows behind him. Is there a way of removing friend's image from the background? I shan't be seeing him for another 2 years so can't take another photo.

Load it on mspaint and use tools to mark him out, then copy and paste

Wouldn't it be easier just to erase the compost bin, rather than cut the guy out which sounds difficult to me.
Thank you for all your help. I have tried erasing the bin in Paint but found it difficult to control the eraser with the mouse. I also found a similar difficulty when trying to mark him out. I'll try Gimp. Thank you all.
