Cables under ground floor floorboards

guys,

Whats your views on leaving cables under the ground floor boards unclipped? So it rests on the earth/rubble/concrete slab etc etc
Do you really lift almost all boards to bang in a few clips?

Ran a socket in for a mate and he asked would it be OK like that and I asked him if he would like me to lift his entire floor to clip it. Turns out he didnt

I was called out because the RCD had tripped after the woodworm guy had saturated under the floors of an old cottage with his beetlejuice.
Clever little chap has concentrated on the neutral side.
