We got a new boiler installed last week.

In the lead up (estimates from various, assessment from company went with, visit from installer days before the job) we were told they would check the pipes under the floorboards upstairs to ensure the pipes were thick enough to be in line with regulalatory requirements.

However on the day the installer now said "it should be ok" when asked if were gonna check the pipes.

A little bit uneasy about this since in the run up we had prepared ourselves for pipes being checked and replaced.

The heating system and pipes were originally installed in 1993.

Any advice on whether our concerns are justified would be welcomed.

Look in the benchmark form in the document pack.

The measurements that are of interest are the gas rate and the inlet working pressure.

The age of the pipes generally is no concern.
What may be a problem is, the old boiler gas pipe is maybe piped in 15mm, the new condensing boiler however would usually need to be piped bigger, usually 22mm depending on the length of the gas run and a few other things.

If the gas pipe is undersized its possible it can create a dangerous situation.
