Would it be ok to paint some stair treads in oil based satinwood,or would it not last too long as I know it's not really designed for this can anyone tell me,many thanks

Well off the shelf paint systems such as satinwood are not really designed for heavy foot traffic, there is also the slip factor, if you are wearing socks or the like you could put yourself in orbit.
