Hello, I'm trying to replace the washer on a dripping tap (Bensham) and have removed the old one which appears to be 1/2 Inch but can't get the replacement one back on as the hole in the middle appears to be a bit small and the washer itself too tall.

Is there a simple trick to this that I'm missing, I now have three 1/2 Inch washers from B&Q, Wickes, and Plumb Centre that are all very slightly different in size and flexibility

Thanks in advance

Thanks footprints,

Bought the kit you suggested and found the 1/2" 'Tantoflex' fitted like a glove, 10 minutes later and job done! Now I have beer, football, and happy wife.

Oh and 169 washers I don't need ;)

Thanks again!
