Not quite picture of the week

What's the story behind that then? It sure is the Neutral position but with the live pin (fuse-holder) clips in it. Was he making assumptions about 'safety' of Neutral and attempting to do something with it???

It's the live pin, in the correct contact.
The piece of card on the back of the plug is incorrect!

Ahhh but the plot thickens... The card is correct when removed and put on the table while you;re re-wiring plug.

Wow.

There's a couple of people on here who need to refresh their understanding of BS 1363 plug and socket wiring!

Neutral hole indeed!

The card is not really incorrect, just ambiguous to the uninformed about what the wiring view is actually telling them.
It could do with some extra info on it to make it less prone to misinterpretation.

Agreed, on both counts.

Kind Regards, John

Uh-oh. Time to stop criticising people who don't know how to wire a lightswitch, I think, if two "regulars" can't work out which way round a plug goes.

So why IS there A pin stuck into A hole? Defeat of the earthing shutter and all that jazz.

I'd guess that it overheated and welded itself in place and when the plug was removed was left behind - the body of the plug probably crumbled due to the heat.

All they needed to do was stick the card on the pins the other way round.
That way the wiring information would be correct, but without implying that it was actually labelling the pins from the back.

Agree with TTC that switch should be off, leaving it on is wreckless, first port of call would be turning it off not taking a photo
