Is Ceramic adhesive ok for slate floor tiles?

I've ordered some slate floor tiles from a well known chain, but I noticed when loading the adhesive into the car that it's for ceramic tiles, I queried this with the store manager and he's claiming that it will be perfectly ok.

Not being an expert I'm a little concerned, will this adhesive be ok?
