Hi, 1st post here, Hoping for your help.
When you turn our kitchen light on, a strip light, for some reason we lose Sky signal for about 2 seconds. This has just started in about the last week. The sky power doesn't go off, the signal just drops off. The sky box is totally seperate to the light, different room no shared socket, on different house circuits I would have thought. Can anyone offer explanations to this strange phenomenon? Thanks. Lee

Maybe your kitchen light has developed a fault? Fluorescent lights are notorious for emitting interference. This is probably a warning that your tube or starter is about to fail.

My guess is that you ALSO have a poorly screened cable or wall plate and/or maybe your signal is now borderline because something has deteriorated (replace cable with WF100 type and check dish/LNB alignment). There are many possibilities.
