Is it feasible to convert an AC garden vac and AC garden shredder to work on rechargeable batteries.

Thanks

You could run them from an inverter and car battery. Probably need a fairly big one.

You would need an inverter and a wheelbarrow full of batteries, hardly portable.

Some power tools have "universal motors" which in theory at least will run on AC or DC. The reality is that most modern kit will be set up to run on AC only. Switching may have electronics, and in any case switches will not be rated for DC.
So unless the rating plate on the machine actually says AC or DC (and it won't) the answer to your question has to be no. Although as said by others you could run them with an invertor and batteries. A small generator is probably the best solution I would have thought, if you need to run kit away from the mains.

Come on guys, simply say "NO".

It would be far easier & cheaper to buy battery or petrol operated ones.

Why would we simply say "no" when the answer is yes. It can be done but it probably isn't practical.
