hi, I have a friend who has a gardtech 580. the mains power recently went off for a day and since then the panel shows 86. you can still set it and unset it but can`t get rid of this code in the display. any ideas?

Seen this before panel display shafted , try a complete down power mains and battery if still same live with it or replace.
Is the display bright or is it flicky-flashing very fast?

I agree with sparkymarka (again, as usual). We've got a couple of customers living with this... I've no idea what causes it but I remember, about ten years ago, spending a couple of hours trying to sort it out - and failing.
